Hello! I’m Emalee.

Before giving this business a name in 2021, I worked on small organic farms in Southeast PA. While I was there to focus on vegetables, I constantly found myself distracted. Around interesting grasses & colorful weeds I had an instinct to pull things together in an aesthetically pleasing way.

Completing two internships with florists, I gained “classic” skills and business knowledge while my personal understanding of “florals” continued to expand. The new definition would include branches, vines, hollow logs to plant in, nuts, fruits, berries, vegetables and other forgotten elements. I love breaking American floristry “rules” and am most inspired by Ikebana. If you don’t know it, give it a quick Googling! It literally gives me butterflies.

I see how the floral industry has lost touch with the earth and that makes not a bit of sense to me. Shipments of off-season stems from across the world, covered in pesticides and plastic sleeves are the “normal”. Bird Seed Florals are an alternative- a celebration of what the natural world provides on your chosen date in this region- and that is why I’m here.

Other than learning more & more about plants, my greatest loves are my sweet fiancé( !! ) Will, my two black cats Pete & Zoey, and a hot cup of coffee. Favorite adventures are quick beach trips, climbing (still beginner), and exploring in my origami kayak.

Design your tables around what’s thriving in the garden, and you’ll create naturally magic moments... sweet curiosity in your guests- who can’t help but notice so many shapes & textures, easily seeing the friend across the table through the dainty stems of a few tall, gestural wildflowers.
